Weld Shop

Base Line Data, Inc.

We offers full-service metallurgical analysis in-house, including lab-mounted hardness with a digital photo of Vickers Diamond Pyramid, Rockwell B-Scale 100-Kg Load 1/16 in. Ball, Brinell Hardness 3000-Kg 10 mm Tungsten Carbide Ball. Base Line Data (BLD) can assist with welder qualification. We test each welder to determine if they can produce a sound weld based on a qualified welding procedure. Weld procedures (WPQR) are qualified & tested mechanically to satisfy its integrity between the base & weld metal.

Charpy impacts is a standardized high-strain test which determines the amount of energy absorbed during fracture. This absorbed energy is a measure of a given material’s notch toughness and acts as a tool to study temperature-dependent ductile-brittle transition. Full graph tensile reports are generated when a weld procedure is being tested mechanically, this test which includes yield strength, elongation percentage, reduced area percentage, and the UTS for all types of carbon steels, and alloys. BLD also offers chemical analysis (carbon and alloys), as well as post weld heat treatment (PWHT), stress relief to ensure our clients’ accurate data in procedure qualifications, and metallurgical analysis. All procedure qualification records and data become the confidential property of our clients and can be sent electronically upon completion of testing. Our lab strives to provide the shortest processing and turnaround time possible, with next-day results on standard welder qualification and testing.

Welder Testing

Welders are tested to determine if they can produce a sound weld based on a qualified weld procedure.

Charpy Impact Testing

Charpy impact is a standardized high-strain test that determines the amount of energy absorbed during fracture. This absorbed energy is a measure of a given material’s notch toughness and acts as a tool to study temperature-dependent ductile-brittle transition.

Chemical Analysis

Chemical analysis of carbon steels and alloys of different grades are checked for the chemical composition breakdown.

WELDING PROCEDURE QUALIFICATION RECORD (WPQR)

Weld procedures are qualified and tested mechanically to satisfy the integrity between the base metal and weld metal.

Tensile Testing

Full graph tensile reports are generated when a welding procedure is being tested mechanically, this test includes yield strength, elongation percentage, reduced area percentage, and the UTS for all types of carbon steels, and alloys.

Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT)

Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT), also called Stress Relief is a method for reducing-relieving, and redistributing the residual stresses in the material that have been introduced by welding.

Never went to another place, I am glad my friend referred me to this one.
