An Ultra-Probe Leak Detection inspection uses a device capable of picking up ultrasound emitted from escaping gases, fluids, stresses or ultrasound created by an ultrasound generator. Ultrasound is sound well below the hearing threshold of the human ear. A piece of equipment is either pressured up with a fluid or an ultrasonic generator is placed inside and all potential leak paths are listened to using a highly sensitive listening device (Ultra-Probe). This listening device is capable of hearing the second hand of a wristwatch as it moves from second to second. Any leak paths are heard and documented for repairs or deposition.
